Meltemi Travel, like Pure Crete, has specialised in independent holidays to Western Crete in rural & coastal locations.

However, Meltemi Travel will not be providing holidays to Crete in future and Pure Crete is offering a number of former Meltemi Travel properties in our 2008 programme including Villa Amalthia in Agios Pandes and Lithos Country House Villa in Megala Chorafia.

So if you have travelled with Meltemi Holidays in the past then we are sure you will appreciate Pure Crete holidays in the future whether in one of Meltemi's former properties or our own. Amalthia

Category E - Sleeps 2/6

A short distance from the small hamlet of Agios Pantes and the village of Nerohori Amalthia is the beautiful Cretan stone house Amalthia. Set amongst olive groves with wonderful countryside views this traditionally built house is both comfortable and fully equipped and has its own large private swimming pool. 5 minutes drive from a choice of tavernas and just 15 minutes from a choice of sandy beaches means that it is both a peaceful retreat and a good vantage point for couples or families.

There are gardens and patio area with barbeque at the front of the house. At the rear of the house are further gardens and a few small steps up to the large private swimming pool.

The house has a large open plan living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. There are two bedrooms – one double bedroom with it’s own balcony and one twin bedroom with a third single bed on a platform above (there are steep steps to the third bed which is not suitable for very small children). There is also a double sofa bed in the living room.

Tavernas are nearby in Agios Pandes (5 minutes drive) and Vrisses (10 minutes drive) and

Villa Lithos

Category E Sleeps 4/8 (minimum occupancy of 4)

Villa Lithos is a large traditionally built stone family house situated on the edge of the Zacharias area of Megala Horafia, with fabulous views over Souda Bay. Lithos House is beautifully finished to a high standard and is a luxury villa that provides comfort and modernity in a traditional style. It is ideal for all times of year with central heating, a Cretan fireplace and air conditioning.

The ground floor comprises a spacious living room with a Cretan fireplace, a dining area suitable for a large family and a fully fitted kitchen. Four steps lead up to the first twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower.

The wide wooden staircase leads up to the first floor and two further bedrooms -a double bedroom and a second twin bedroom with a platform above that has an extra large single bed(two thirds double). The modern bathroom has a bath and hydromassage. The balcony offers views across Souda Bay and stretches across the whole width of the first floor with multiple access from the landing and the double and twin bedrooms.

The basement houses a laundry room with a washing machine and further WC.

Outside is the large terraced gardens, patio, barbeque area and salt water swimming pool from which to appreciate the breathtaking sea and mountain views.

Lithos sleeps up to 8 in its one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, one extra platform bed plus one sofa bed in the living room.
