Armeni

Armeni is a sleepy Cretan village set in a green valley of orange groves, about 2 km inland from the coast at Kalives (pictured). In the shady village square are a church, two first class tavernas, a cafeneion, a fabulous butcher and a few pantopoleion (minimarkets). Some ten minutes' walk (0.5 km) from the village, along the level road towards Kalives are two small Cretan cottages. Romantically set within the seclusion of the countryside, each overlooks a lush green river valley. Both houses retain their privacy within the large garden of fruit trees and vines.
