On the way to the beach from Megala Chorafia, set between the Turkish fortress of Izeddin and the coastal road, is Kalami. Here, restored in traditional style by its owner, a curator of Chania Museum, is Costas' House with its arched doorways, beamed ceilings and stone floors. Outside there is a pretty court and garden.

Ground Floor: Spacious, comfortable living room; well-equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge, etc; bathroom with bath; courtyard garden outside.

First Floor: An open staircase from the ground floor leads into the first twin bedroom (which has a door to the outside) which leads through to the second twin bedroom with air conditioning double glazing and balcony.

The village taverna is very close by for meals and drinks and occasional Cretan music evenings. A stone's throw to the coastal road to Chania means public transport may be used. Five minutes' walk to nearest beach; 3/4 mile to the Blue Beach near the small town of Kalives.
