The home of the earliest Western civilization, Crete boasts the great Minoan cities of Knossos and Phaestos and also the smaller ancient ruins of Aptera. Local expert and writer Keith Hall provides a guided introduction to local history including a walking tour of Chania and visits to Minoan, Venetian, Turkish and Roman ruins.

Keith is an experienced history lecturer living in Crete with an extensive knowledge of Greco-Romano sites gained over the past decade. He has also walked extensively in Crete and written successful walking guides for Western Crete. Keith is therefore ideally qualified to lead this guided week.

The week including Pure Crete category B accommodation, airfare, expert guidance, all excursions, transfers and the first evening meal costs £705. Numbers are limited to 12.

'Having taken a tour of Chania last year with ..., we booked to go on his tour (Exploring Crete Week) this week. Only eight of us and it was perfect. We visited several archaeological sites and out-of-the-way places where Cretan life carries on as it always has. .... Anyway we highly recommend his tour week.' (from the Alikis House visitors book)
