 Kalami

Kalami is a small village or hamlet set between the Turkish fortress of Izeddin and the coastal road to Kalives. A small cafeneon and The Izeddin Taverna, which is particuarly good, overlook the bay. All Pure Crete houses in Kalami are within a stone’s throw of the small sand and pebble beach, overlooking Souda Bay.  

The larger coastal village of Kalives, with its tavernas, beautiful sandy beach, shops, supermarket, bank and post office, is just 5 minutes drive away. Chania town, with it’s beautiful Venetian Harbour, is 20 minutes away. Rethymnon is also within easy reach (40 minutes), as is the spectacular Samaria Gorge. The archaeological sites of Knossos and Phaestos are 1.5 hours drive from the village.
