  • Vangelis is our favourite villa. The Equipment in the kitchen is superb (including the chunky bread toaster)
  • Mr P Devitt
  • Pure Crete's service was excellent. Vangelis' House's situation is superb - remote, quiet, wonderful views, birdsong, goatbells and wind in the trees. Many thanks Louise, Gemma Helen and Sarah, and especially to Vangelis and his friendly and informative wife.
  • Mr Burnage
  • The house is just brilliant - peaceful (apart from the cicadas!) Very well equipped with lovely views to the sea and the mountains behind. The pool was delightful and the owners were brilliant.
  • Mrs L Oates
  • We have had several villa holidays with other companies but this is the best by far. We went with expectations of a quiet isolated villa with spectacular views and this villa outlived all. Beautiful and romantic and very restful. Would get the the next flight back if we could. Thanks Pure Crete and Vangelis and his wife
  • Mrs B

  • Fantastic house, stunning views, away from it all but close enough to the essentials
  • Mr and Mrs Lockhart
  • Seamlessly excellent. Booking process smoothly and responsively handled by the office. Local Reps - especially Helen - friendly, helpful and accessible. House perfect. Vangelis and Vasso are lovely people. Overall, exceeded what we hoped for.
  • The Times - "All Quiet on the Western Front"
  • Over in the West, in the rolling, rural foothills between the ancient port of Chania and the glorious White Mountains, is a Crete that seems frozen in time, along with its unpretentious tavernas, its farming villages, its gorgeous orange groves, its twisting mountain roads, and its secret gorges. To be a tourist here almost seems a crime; you feel that you might somehow dislodge the delicate workings of a society that gives off an aura of absolute tranquillity. (By Richard Morrison)

Standing alone and commanding impressive views over Cretan countryside, both towards the sea and up to the White Mountains, Vangelis’ offers a rare opportunity for quiet contemplation and romantic seclusion. This handsome stone-built Cretan house boasts a private pool and is positioned above the sleepy village of Stilos, South East of the Venetian harbour town of Chania. This comfortable family house is fully equipped and has WIFI, air conditioning and a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The private pool is ideal for families and couples alike with ample space to  spread out, eat al fresco and take in the panoramic setting.

No 5.  Apokoronas Village houses, Crete

“The green hilly Apokoronas region of Western Crete is conveniently located near Hania airport. We especially like Stilos Village and its Vangelis House (for up to 5)….Many properties have Wi-Fi and are available from late March – both unusual traits fur rural Greek villas. Pure Crete offers both flight-inclusive and accommodation only prices for those preferring to make their own travel arrangements” 24th January 2015

Stilos Village is a five minutes drive to a choice of tavernas and local shops. Famouse for its natural springs, visitors can relax beneath the shade of tall trees whilst enjoying generous portions of organic food and wine or spring water. Sandy beaches of Kalives 3 miles.

Visitors should be aware that across the valley from Vangelis is a Cretan Taverna where Greek weddings are sometimes celebrated on a Friday or Saturday. This may mean the sound of Cretan music and even gunfire into the night!

There is also a sofa bed in the living room which maybe used for a 5th guest and we can also provide an additional bed for a family of 6.
