When You Should Go
There is no right or wrong time to visit Crete, and the time of your visit will often depend on your choice of holiday. January to April often sees the ‘real winter’ of Crete, although Crete’s winter never drops as low as Northern Europe temperatures, and its daily average of 12°C includes both glorious sunshine and rainy days.
January to April months are also ideal for the heritage or local sights explorer amongst us, as they offer fantastic opportunity to visit museums, archaeological sites and churches without having to queue against the usual tourist crowds. This means that our ‘winter’ months are an excellent opportunity for tourists looking to enjoy the culture that Crete has to offer.
