Zoi's house, in the village of Tzizifes, has been renovated to provide accommodation ideal for families or couples. The small swimming pool with poolside terrace is surrounded by olive trees and greenery - very private and peaceful - a perfect spot for relaxing and sun bathing

The village of Tzizifes is in the foothills of the White Mountains about 10 km south east of Neo Horio, 5km west of Vrisses and 15 minutes drive from the sandy beaches of Kalives and Georgioupoli.

The pretty village of Fres with its tavernas and a grocery store is just 5 minutes away by car whilst Vrisses with its shaded riverside tavernas and further amenities is just 10 minutes drive away.

The house is situated in a sleepy traditional Cretan village and commands an open aspect with wonderful rural views. There are two tavernas nearby, one en route to the village of Fres (the Rizitiko, about a 1km walk) and the other (the Taverna Tzizifes) is just a 10/15 minute walk down hill from the house.

The main house has a dining room/lounge with seating and a Cretan fireplace ideal for Spring evenings. The house is traditionally divided by a Cretan archway and has a family dining area, fully fitted kitchen and a bathroom (up 3 steps). It has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. A washing machine is provided.

Outside is shaded side terrace, perfect for alfresco meals and evening drinks. The small swimming pool which is down a flight of gated steps below the house is surrounded by olive trees and greenery. Pool depth 1.1m to 1.75m Seperate childrens section is 0.6m to 1.10m

The historical town of Chania with its beautiful Venetian harbour is 30 minutes to the west, while the town of Rethymnon is approximately 40 minutes drive East. The archaeological sites of Knossos and Phaestos are just over an hour’s drive from the village.

Clients are reminded that they should take all proper precautions in the pool area at all times. The pool terrace is not suitable for very small children unsupervised.

Zoi's House with studios

For those who wish to book for more than four persons, two self contained studios may be made available each with twin beds, a bathroom and kitchenette. The studios cannot be booked separately but will suit a group who want separate cooking & bathroom facilities, comfort and privacy. The studios are above the main house and have their own access via an extrenal stone staircase.(see middle photo above) There are fabulous views from the upstairs balcony, which is not suitable for very small children unsupervised.

The landscape - superb walking territory - is stunning, dominated by the craggy limestone peaks of 8,000ft - high Lefka Ori or White Mountains. A swathe of olive groves, vineyards and chestnut woods covers the foothills, where villages ooze geraniums and bougainvillaea.
