Two new halls of Sculptors have opened at the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. In addtion, the temporary exhibition of the museum highlights is housed in a special gallery at the North side of the Museum, whose entrance is located at Hatzidaki street.

Among the many artefacts exhibited therein, the visitor can admire the Phaistos Disc, the idols of the Snake Goddesses, the gold Bee-Pendant, the Ring of Minos and the frescos depicting “La Parisienne” and the Bull Leaping scene.

In the course of the building renovation, which involves new state-of-the-art installations, will be fully completed, hopefully during the course of 2013. The new exhibition halls will include most of the objects from the old collections as well as finds from the latest archaelogical excavations.
