Eating out is simply something that you must do whilst on holiday – at least once anyway! – It is all part of the holiday experience, especially if you’re trying something new. There are many different traditional tarvernas right across this stunning island where you can enjoy fine food and drink. So what can you expect when it comes to eating out and buying food in Crete?
Eating Out in Crete: What are the prices like?
If you’re a regular to Crete you’ll know that eating out in has always been fairly reasonable; of course, this varies from restaurant to restaurant. You’ll be happy to know that according to research undertaken by the Post Office, meals for two have fallen by 18% in the last year – this is certainly a great reason to visit Crete, it won’t break the bank, but you can experience both food and culture at its finest!
British newspaper, The Telegraph made the following commented that holiday makers should, ‘keep an eye on Crete where it falls in the cost of eating out’ as it makes ‘the island better value than ever before.’ The fine and hearty food of Crete is certainly something that you should taste whilst away; you’ll find lamb, fish, goat and plenty appetising dishes that are simply beautiful!
Eating In
It isn’t just eating out here that is so cheap here, you can also purchase foods from the supermarkets and village markets for reasonable prices so if you want to eat in for certain meals or throughout your holiday you can.
