It’s time for another one of our property spotlights, where we showcase one of our vast selection of properties! This time we are going to focus on the stunning Villa Maza, one of our massive collection of Crete villas with pools

The Property

Situated in the quiet village of Maza in North West Crete, this serene property houses a private pool and is perfect for those private getaway holidays, as well as providing a calm, rural base for a family holiday.

With an adequately sized swimming pool situated outside the house, the view this property has is breathtaking. Being off the beaten track, the surrounding area is a luscious green valley painted against the backdrop of the White Mountains. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful view while you are relaxing on the terrace.

The house consists of a large dining room/living area and has 3 bedrooms; one double, one twin, and one single which has the option of an extra pull out bed if required. The dining/living area comes equipped with two sofas, a fireplace, TV and DVD player, full cooker, freezer and a dining table and a set of chairs. The bathroom is beautifully tiled and has both a bath and a shower.

All bedrooms and the living/dining area have access to air conditioning to keep you cool on those hot summer nights, and the villa sleeps 2-6 people.

The Surrounding Area

In terms of what there is in the Maza area, the property is a 5 minute walk from the local taverna, and a 10 minute drive from the stunning beaches of Giorgiopoli, which have been awarded the European Blue Flag award, which means that the beaches are to an eco-friendly standard and are completely safe to swim in and enjoy.

The village of Vrisses is famous for the locally produced sheep’s yoghurt, as well as its secluded riverside tavernas.

If history is more your thing, why not take a visit to the town of Chania, where you can stroll around the beautiful Venetian harbour. Despite being bombed in World War II, the majority of the town has remained intact, and is considered to be the most beautiful urban district in Crete. Chania’s covered market is renowned for the wide variety of fresh produce on offer, as well as local shops which offer handmade leather good, rugs and lace, so it’s definitely worth a visit!

Food-wise, there is a massive variety available. From traditional Greek food to international cuisine, Chania has it all. Fresh fish is a popular food choice in the area, with the harbour being a perfect location, so its seafood restaurants are a must-try for all you fish lovers.

As the villa has full cooking facilities, why not visit the market and try making some of the local Cretian cuisine yourself? With extremely friendly locals, we’re sure you could pick up some handy tips and tricks to become a Cretian connoisseur in no time!

This will save you money, and you will be able to take the recipes back home with you. Not many people can say they can cook Cretian food, so get ready to wow all your friends and family with your new, delicious dishes!

Having been featured in The Sunday Times as one of their featured villas, Villa Maza is a popular and picturesque holiday getaway. With so much to offer, Crete is a fantastic holiday destination and we hope you agree too!
