Day One

Fly into Chania, stay in Chania town for 3 nights in the beautiful harbour, soaking up the many architectural influences of the town or perhaps a visit to the new archaeological Museum. 

Accommodation at the Alcanea Hotel, on Chania waterfront. 

Day 4

Collect hire car drive to Aptera village, in the foothills of the White mountains.

Optional stop enroute to visit Souda Bay War Memorial, home to the tombs of the soldiers of the Battle of Crete of 1941.

Visit the archaeological site of Aptera, with its Roman cisterns and amphitheatre, or relax on the sandy beaches of nearby Kalyves. Try the Cretan cuisine in one of the 3 traditional village tavernas Aptera has to offer. 

3 night Stay in a traditional Pure Crete village house or an apartment with pool

Day 7

Head east to Rethymno, an optional visit enroute to the ancient village of Lappa with its Roman mosaics and columns or take a refreshing dip in freshwater Lake Kournas. Stay in Rethymno for 2 nights exploring the Venetian harbour town and all it has to offer. 

Accommodation at the Avli Lounge hotel Rethymno old town. 

Day 9

Rural Rethymno. Explore the rolling countryside south of Rethymno with opportunities to visit Arkadi Monastery, Eleutherna Archaeological Museum, the Village of Spili or the Pottery village of Margarites. Alternatively relax by the pool and admire the views. 

Accommodation at the beautiful rural hotel of Kapsaliana for 3 nights 

Day 12

Further East to Heraklion for your last 2 nights on the island.

The site of the Palace of Knossos is a must see along with a visit to Archaeological Museum in Heraklion which houses Minoan masterpieces. Explore Heraklion old town and harbour.

Accommodation at the beautiful Veneziano Hotel in the heart of the old town.
